Its not too late to reserve your spot for the 2014 StoryConnect Conference hosted by WordSouth set for Sept. 15-17 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

This conference is a great learning and networking opportunity for rural telecommunications companies and electric utilities, says Stephen V. Smith, founder and president of WordSouth. Attendees will learn more about the power of storytelling and how they can use storytelling to engage with their customers and market their services.

The conference is designed for marketing, public relations, communications and even management professionals from telecommunications cooperatives, electric cooperatives, independent phone companies and municipal electric departments.

StoryConnect will feature speakers who work in the utilities industry such as Laura Withers, director of communications for NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association; Danna Bailey, VP, corporate communications with Chattanooga EPB; and Phillip Burgess, director of communications, conferences and government relations for TVPPA (Tennessee Valley Public Power Association).

Topics scheduled for StoryConnect include how social media can turn customers into advocates; why a rich history is a great foundation for telling stories and advancing your brand; how advances in printing technology are bringing new ideas to point-of-sale material; and ideas for marketing cutting-edge services.

The conference will take place at The Chattanoogan, an award-winning hotel in the citys downtown. A highlight of the conference will be a dinner and networking event at the Tennessee Aquarium, which will include a self-guided tour of the facilitys River Journey.
